Conclusion

Roe v. Wade gave women the right to have an abortion within the 1st trimester. It meant women didn't have to quit their jobs and that younger women didn't have to live in maternity homes. Roe v. Wade is still being debated today. Decades after the Supreme Court decision, people are still trying to overturn it and it created more controversy than any other Supreme Court decision. In 2003, there was a law that made abortion illegal, but Roe v. Wade was still not overturned.

Roe v. Wade had an impact on the world. It gave all women the right to privacy. Abortion may not seem to be a good thing, but what if this happened to your daughter or yourself or even a close relative They/you have a big future ahead, and from one mistake, it could ruin it. Now today they have clinics such as Planned Parenthood where they can perform legal and safe abortions.

Abortions are very common. In fact, more than 1 out of 3 women in the U.S. have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old. If you are under 18 your state may require one or both of your parents to give permission for your abortion.

When the Supreme Court ruled in 1973 that woman's right to privacy included her choice to have an abortion. No other ruling since then has had a greater impact on the lives of American women and their families than Roe v. Wade.

According to the president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, " Without the protection of Roe, all other legal and civil rights, are meaningless. If you can't determined the fate of your body, all other rights are pale."
